| Drainage patterns of water added (75ml) to the 4 sizes of Nova Pots, each filled to capacity with saturated coir fibre mix. (standard) All water added to surface within 20 seconds. 1. Soil mixture composition is a major determinate of drainage rate and water holding capacity – tests above are ‘standardised’ for comparison – 100% Coir Mix without plant. 2. Water holding capacity is expressed as % of water remaining within the Coir mix – suspended by cohesive forces after full drainage by the capillary action of Nova’s central drainage. 3. Full drainage is defined as when all free water has been naturally and fully drained from the pot and water has visibly stopped draining. 4. Note: due to many variables – test results can vary from test to test. 5. DRAINAGE – we encourage you to conduct drainage rate and water holding capacity test with your preferred soil mixture using the Nova pot.
